Welcome to United Machine Shop. By accessing or using our website, services, or purchasing our products, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
This isn’t a suggestion—it’s a contract.
If you have a problem with that, just know Netscape’s case in 2002 showed what happens when terms aren’t clear.
General Terms
Agreement to Terms
By using www.unitedmachine.shop or placing an order, you agree to all these terms. Think of this as the “no take-backsies” clause.
Service and Product Availability
We reserve the right to modify, discontinue, or accidentally misplace any product or service without notice. Prices may fluctuate faster than a caffeinated stockbroker.
Eligibility
You must be 18+ to place an order. If you’re under 18:
- Get a guardian to agree to these terms.
- If they complain, remind them they survived dial-up internet. This is easier.
Orders and Payments
Order Process Overview
- Budget Estimate:
- Typically includes time and material costs for the first prototype or pilot.
- Common for low-volume repair or on-demand production needs, especially when “needed right now.” Orders required within 7 days (at our discretion) are subject to a 3x expedite fee. This applies to custom, one-off, or non-production orders. For multiple units, it is again at our discretion..
- After completing the prototype or pilot, we document the process in Odoo by creating a "unit" or product, including pricing, notes on one-time setups, and considerations.
- Time and material lines/sections outline the design, consultation labor, scanning, and other tasks contributing to the overall cost.
- Each task is itemized to show its contribution to the total time and cost.
- Budget Confirmation Order:
- Confirms the scope and cost of the project based on the budget estimate.
- Down Payment Invoice:
- Requires a 60% non-refundable deposit upfront to proceed with the order.
- Partial Fulfillment and Final Invoicing:
- Quantities are invoiced as requested per pickup, based on the weight percentage of the remaining 40%.
- Customers typically receive net 5/10 terms for payment on remaining balances, though COD is preferred.
Pricing, Payment Terms, and Fees
Our pricing structure is easy, it's 2x what it actually costs us excluding start\setup costs.
- 60% Down Payment: Non-refundable. Starts the actual money moves to get your parts on the way. We pay up front, why shouldn’t you?
- 40% Balance: Due on delivery or prorated for partial pickups (e.g., pick up 25% of parts? Pay 25% of the balance).
- Late Payments: Accrue interest at 1.5% monthly. That’s less than your credit card, but still—pay us.
Fees
- DESIGN&CONSULT: Billed hourly 262$, come correct or waste your money having us figure it out.
- CNC\WATERJET: Billed at 126$ once any design and or processing work is complete.
- Minimum shop charge: While we may do stuff for free it's at least 20$, completely at our discretion.
- Credit Card Processing: 3% line will be added to the invoice for all card charges, per transaction.
After establishing a history with us, we do offer more standard terms.
However, until such a history is created—at our discretion—the above payment terms of 60% down or full payment upfront on confirmation/production apply.
Cancellations and Modifications
Changes are free until work starts. After that:
- Fees apply. Like changing a flight, which is basically a large CNC machine.
Refunds and Returns
Labor and Custom Products
Custom work is non-refundable. It’s like a bespoke suit—you can’t return it because you regret neon green.
Quality and Workmanship Issues
- Coatings/Surface Finishes: Not included unless you pay extra. Raw metal has its charm (think “post-apocalyptic chic”), but if you want a finish smoother than a politician’s handshake, add a coating.
- Workmanship Issues: We’ll fix them—unless you dropped the part off a cliff. Then it’s your problem.
Liability and Warranty
Limited Warranty
Products and services are provided “as is.” We’re not mind readers, psychic hotlines, or your overly optimistic friend.
Liability Limitation
We’re not liable for:
- Indirect damages (e.g., lost profits, existential crises, or your mother-in-law’s opinion).
- Zombie apocalypses caused by our products (probably… let’s hope not).
Intellectual Property
Ownership of Designs
Anything we figure out, including concepts within something we do for clients unless signed over prior to transactions, is ours. A lot of time has been spent applying our expertise to define solutions for you on a moment’s notice. Do not take it for granted.
Reverse Engineering & Compliance
At United Machine Shop, most products are developed in-house using reverse engineering to replicate or maintain components within existing assemblies. Think of us as the MacGyvers of machining—solving problems with grit, precision, and a lot of hard and soft wares.
Our Commitment:
- No IP Infringement Intended: We reverse-engineer parts for compatibility and performance, not to copy branded designs. If your patented widget looks like ours, it’s purely coincidental (and probably a testament to good engineering).
- Dimensions: May be reverse-engineered for fit/function but are not exact replicas of OEM specs. Close enough for jazz, though.

- Manufacturers/OEMs: If we’re using your components in our solutions, reach out! Let’s partner up like peanut butter and machining grease.

Governing Law
Disputes are governed by Nevada law. What happens in Vegas… doesn’t (legally speaking) and will follow applicable legal channels. If federal law applies, we’ll address it faster than you can say “supremacy clause.”
Changes to Terms
We’ll update these terms whenever inspiration strikes. Your continued use = acceptance. If you hate changes, blame Netscape—they pioneered the “agree or leave” approach.
